Marble Experience Bike Tour

Marble Experience Bike Tour

After an impressive film presentation, we will cycle via the Bergstraße to the Bremsberg. There, we will visit the engine house of the marble inclined railway. (approx. 500 m elevation gain.) Afterward, we continue along the legendary track bed of the upper marble railway to the start of the fabled “Brüchlerstiegen” stairs in the Laas Valley. From there, we continue on foot through the tunnel and up the 365 steps of the Brüchlerstiegen to the mining area of the “white gold,” the Weisswasser quarry, at 1,600 m. Walking time there and back approx. 1 hour (200 m elevation gain). Following this, we head back to the marble village of Laas.

There, we will be welcomed at Venustis and treated to local culinary delights.

Information, enjoyment, and fun are guaranteed!

My team and I look forward to seeing you!

An experience for all the senses!

Formed millions of years ago, Laas marble is a stone full of secrets, fascination, and history. Neither time nor space, neither haste nor stress have shaped this stone. White as snow and crystalline, it stands as a synonym for untouched purity. Feeling and touching this fascinating stone—rough yet polished velvet-smooth—is truly a special sensation, allowing you to sense and glimpse the primal inner power and charisma of nature. Nestled like precious buds, two marble quarries have existed in the Laas Valley for over 150 years, the Weißwasser and the Jennwand quarries, whose history and development we would be happy to share with you.
In many places around the world, monuments and structures made of Laas marble have been created through human talent and artistic endeavor, and we, too, love to use creativity and enthusiasm to craft something special from this stone.

Inspired in turn by nature and striving to make something special from our local fruits, we have created sweet delicacies that will tell you stories and surely remain in your memory. Like the secrets of the white stone, our "fruit chocolates"—first and foremost our Vinschgau apricot chocolate, or the apricot/whisky variety, our "South Tyrolean mountain pralines," and in particular our "sweet" Laas marble cube or the "love cube"—will manifest as noble compositions on the palate.

As mentioned, it is truly an experience for all the senses, one which you are welcome to share with your loved ones back home by bringing them a "souvenir."
